Re: Best One Nation Team
Updated the number of active teams on the form by the way, it's a bit difficult to keep that up to date, but I've tried.

Universal Soup wins the vote 5-1. I will keep my promise and also vote for him though, so it's 6-1.

Re: Best One Nation Team
Well, I was just thinking about changing my team to a Dutch team sowly and in the long run...
A while ago I contacted a team that was going towards all Irish (I think it was that country..). Anyway, he wouldn't sell his rider because of that, obviously. He also said that in his long career in OCM, it was actually going better now than ever before. I get that: we have a gazillion options, we can scout anyone, we can buy anyone, there is always a new idea popping to mind and therefore the focus and long term planning get screwed. If you have limited options it becomes much more clear what to do.
Dont know what you mean by raising the price of their riders by the way...?
Thanks for checking anyway

Re: Best One Nation Team
Checked. Looks fine.
I really don't get what the fun is of the 100%-domesticteams, especially the smaller nations. Barely a choice what to do: hey a new rider from my nation, lets train it whatever. Other than that these teams dope their own National Teams, artificially increase their riders-AV by getting results with them in NT and team both (2k each minus agereduction 4% each year), and don't have to communicate with other managers about ridershape and stuff. They don't participate in auctions in the transfermarket, other than rider for their own nation, making the market skewed. And if you're unlucky they are even frustrated when other outbid them when finally is someone available form their country. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Horrible category, horrible there is an award for this.

I think I would vote for Soup over Goede too. Goege did better last season and so the team is in the same boat as I am, it's good, but nothing special.

Well, I would vote for Soup out of those 4. Because of his nation strength and his Tour win. But I could definitely be the only one.

Re: Best One Nation Team
Haha, we might get a bit carried away here if we are going to weigh in average riders' max and the types of wins
Nullinger does not only use the talent feature, he also does scouting.
The suggestion of putting Spin Doctors, Arx, and Lokomotiva in is fine.
I would put Nullinger, Frank and Goege in the vote. That would still leave Soup out, which makes sense because even for people who value the 1 nation aspect so much, Goege will be the best option anyway, right? 211th vs 93rd, 3 wins in division 4 against 6 in division 2 (that includes 2 in U23, does that count here? :O). And Arx is also from just a 2 nation country.

Re: Best One Nation Team
Goege had some BA wins as well btw, but since we don't have BA statistics from every team, it would not be fair to let it be a part of our decision-making.

Re: Best One Nation Team
Does Nullinger only use Talent feature guys?
Because only training your own riders is something many of the small nation teams are forced to do with the great majority of their riders, so I wouldn't necessarily put him over UniversalSoup, or indeed the Ukrainian team (who is indeed better than Soup, I agree on that). One argument for UniversalSoup is that he has a chronic case of low maxing riders, so he is very limited in his options.
I would put Spin Doctors, Arx, and Lokomotiva in, and leave UniversalSoup, Geoge, and Nullinger or Frank (depending on if Nullinger does talent feature only or not) up for vote.
It's clearly a complicated category, so we could even expand to 4 managers to vote (or even 5 to vote on for 2 spots) on if we really just can't agree on 3. Don't mind an exception there.
And I think that we at least seem to all agree on the top-7 teams for this category, so that's something.

Re: Best One Nation Team
Haha, nice, there goes my 'this seems pretty straight forward' ... But thanks for the input of course! And yes, new category, so discussion about what is important is probably good.
Of course I get that small nation = less options. Arxhangxxx is a 2 nation team with some great achievements. And Lokomotiva is also from a pretty small nation (6 teams). They are both up for vote, so almost nominated. And I felt they did just a little better than Goege, who put 'just out' based on that. The other teams mentioned are also from smaller nations and deserve all respect of course, but they are at least not better than Goege and Arxhang-thingy, so IMO also not better than the rest:
Universal Soup: like I said, 3 wins, 211 overall. That would never put them above Lokomotiva and Arxhang...
CCC: Czeck has 7 teams, which is a bit more already. Also he has done much better in the past. And 5 wins, 173 overall just doesnt beat the others there either.
Velosipedska: 282 overall, 3 wins of which a division 5 tour. Nah...
So of the smaller nation teams I really think Lokomotiva, Goege and Arxhang are the top 3.
But I also really believe the accomplishments of Frank, Nullinger and Spin Doctors are very special. As Don said: winning a tour as a small nation team is quite something. But so is finishing 24th or winning the biggest tour of the game! Literally all teams are after that, and Frank and SD did it even with their handicap! And Nullinger is from a larger country, but he trains all his riders himself besides being 1 nation, and still managed to be the best of his country for example, finishing higher than so many other teams and getting a division 2 classic along the way.
Anyway, would this be better?:

True, you don't have to nominate me despite the fact that i will have the most points. I have been better. When the second places in GC would have been one win it would be something different

Re: Best One Nation Team
O my, the only category I didn't I have to check? You big evil, Don.
Kind of agree to Don: I am really impressed by Lokomotiva Zvolen and ArxhangiiliPoznyakax this season.
As much as I like Frank, he has done a lot better before. The trainees he delivered to other teams (Jochem Ploeger, Ullrich van Gangelen, Dirk-Jan Helwig) made a better impression than his current own riders this season
Maybe have a look at Velosipedska (Monte Rosa with a young team) and CyclingClubChomutov (3 jerseys) as well.

Re: Best One Nation Team
My first comments on this is that you seem to not take into account that a one nation team from a smaller nation has a much harder time than one from a nation like Netherlands, England, or Germany. So I personally disagree with most of your certain nominees.
I personally would nominate Universal Soup for instance, because they are the only active team from Vietnam. That gives a lot less options, because rider generation on the hire list depends on active teams. Winning a Tour with that kind of a handicap is quite something.
But this is the first time for this category, so maybe some others have opinions to add to the discussion.
