I am usually of the opinion that you have to at least win 1 race to be nominated for anything, so I am in support of Royce over Giannoni as well.

If they were the same age it would be a different story, but my feel is that Royce' performance (39 of age) is more outstanding than Giannoni's performance. But yes, this award says nothing of the actual age. Tough call.

Royce did win two races but got no other points throughout the entire season. I’ve gone more down the lines of consistency in scoring points being the better overall rider for the season for this award. Please let me know though if you want that changing
