Yeah, the more I think about this the more I feel I'm against including any tours. It introduces an issue with what counts as TTer and I don't know where that should be. For instance, I have seriously considered training TT "talents" with only good in TT (money was the only reason I didn't). If we made an 80 cutoff for consideration then such a rider would be unfairly discarded from qualifying even when they were for all intents and purposes a TT rider. How is that going to work?

I will say that there are a couple of TTs I view as de facto classics, namely Epreuve and Malmo-Landskrona. I've always felt it was a shame Malmo-Landskrona wasn't but I get it. I would vote to leave the category as is.

Not a fan of adding Robson, as he didn't score in any TT this season besides tours, and didn't even podium the TT's there.
That's also why I only want to include tours commonly won by TT'ers, like in other categories. I would say Essex, Cymru, Montelbano (Volta has a case but Volta winners almost never win regular season TT's). Having tour riders nominated here is not my intention.

The problem is that if you put it open to every tour, you will get Best Tour Rider #2.

I'm willing to add Robson if its agreed that both GC and YC results are included. And do points from tour GC results then count as in category? And are we selective about tours or not?

And again, is there an obvious TT cut off level? If someone with only 50s in TT does well in TTs during a season they might get nominated, but here we've got the inverted scenario and we're insisting on a cut off?

This is not something I'm comfortable making a decision on without a healthy discussion.

Allan Robson is certainly a TTer with lots of good stuff in tours with two jerseys.
And yes, more could be done with the Hour record. But you cannot see when a rider has done the hour record attempt.

New attempts to the hour record could also be weighed in maybe?

It would seem the question of tour results is not important this season anyways. I found one 79 TT rider with 2nd in Volta ao Porto but he didn't do much else in or out of category to get nominated. We will need to resolve this some time though.

Ok, so is this a definite that we include tour gc results if applicable? And why an 80 tt cut off? why not 75 or 85?

I do have my concerns, hence the questions. If a rider with no hill skills managed to win 10 hill races in a season, would they qualify for best hiller that season? For me, the type of race makes the latter clearer (yes, I think they do) but the tt in tour gc results is harder...

Agreed TT'ers do not have any classics apart from WC ITT, so tours is a good addition.

Think it should be worth adding GC Tour results and victories for a TT rider who has 80 or more. Don’t limit what tours count, as long as the rider is 80 TT or above, then surely it’s a worthy victory/result for the rider

Any opinions on including TT heavy tours in this category under the requirement that the rider has TT>80?

- normal races or tour stages where TT>0
- no Tour GC's

Thanks to Alexander from Team Chili, nominating in specialist categories gets a little bit easier. If you want an overview of the top-20 riders of this category based on points scored in races inside category in Division 1 t/m 3, do the following:

- Go to the OCM Chat
- look if 'chilibot' is online (it usually is)
- type in '/query chilibot'
- In the individual conversation screen with chilibot, type in 'q awardType 62 TT' (the number stands for the season, so it might be wrong if I forgot to edit it)
- You will now get a response from chilibot, giving you a link to the top-20, with points scored attached.

Beware however, this list does not take into account results in Div4 or lower, and might not include some of the newer races, so always check if a rider has scored in any of those divisions/races before posting his points inside category. Also, make sure you don't miss that great rider who has won 10 races, but never made it to the higher divisions.
