Didn't do a complete overhaul after all, because it's still very hard to find teams with smaller budget that have won a lot. And hard to leave out those that did win a lot. I just added two managers to the vote now. Still happy with my top-3, but can be convinced otherwise.

Kinda did an overnight 180 on this, so will put a bit more effort into making a list of people I think managed their team exceptionally well compared to rider strenght. And I guess Danner might end up being one of those.

He's been at a lower level than normal division wise, and was beaten at that level more than once. He's had seasons where he dominanted Div1 Tours, so winning a few in Div3 and 2 is quite run of the mill for him. I do respect his ability to plan his seasons immensely, but at some point he can't be an auto-nomination just for that.
Alpine did perform below his own level pointswise, but still dominated Division 1 classics and Tours. That's still a bit harder to do than winning in Division 2 and 3. But if I thought Alpine had a great season he would have been in the top-3, he's in the vote for a reason, so we probably mostly agree on his season. There's just not much left to win for others and stand out to get into this nomination race when 3 teams pretty much win everything in Div1, and 1 other team cleans up on the lower level every season.

Controversial indeed But we are doing the same discussion every season I suppose. A bad season with 9 jerseys and 1 trophy? I'd say CCC nominated, Alpine (speaking of below own standards) out of the vote, Silenzio in the vote. I won Provence as well.

I matters not. A clear 1 vs. 1 this award I suppose.
