Personally I would go for Carneiro over Tere, but that's more because to me Germany Tour is like TdF in real cycling. Also can't see why 1 GC + 1 GC-result is evidently better than 1 GC + 1 YC.

Complicated way to say that I agree with Dons selections for both nominees and vote.

It's a decent argument, although I would also say Marsh always gets beaten by Tere. But he has done more than Carneiro, it's just in lower divisions. But I can definitely be convinced, if nobody else disagrees with you I will swap them.

One textual remark:
Normann was 2nd in GT SC.

Concerning the nominees, I can see the 'problem'. But wouldn't Carneiro always lose to Tereshchenko? I think I would prefer to swap Carneiro for Marsh.

I don't hate sprinters, they're just not tour riders.
Mark Cavendish is not one of the best tour riders of all time.

Any way, these two did not win anything big, no GC win, so for me they are not better than any GC winner, even the ones that only have results in one tour.

Winning a stage as a sprinter is in most tours way easier than it is for a GC contender/Tour rider, because the sprint stages are perfect for their stats, while a GC rider has TT-stats that hinder them against better climbers/hillers. And in most tours, they also barely have any TF competition (Germany and the sprint tours being the exception). And without TF, you can forget about a stage win as a GC rider, so it's almost impossible to get those in multiple tours (only the Norway/Perm combo), while for sprinters it's very doable. So that's why I don't regard stage wins as much of a measure of how good of a tour rider someone is.

My really controversial opinion is that sprint or cobble tour GCs should not count for this category, but since the community overwhelmingly seems to disagree with me every year, I'll just have to keep being annoyed about it.

Van Huffel was also 9th in Coppa and 3rd in Perm SC

Nope, he did every single freaking tour with a different captain somehow.
Van Huffel could be added I guess, although a Div3 win and a Div2 cup 6th is not exactly glorious. But it is what I asked for, so I guess it'll do.

Can't for the life of me find anyone else who won something relevant (so no SC or YC) and also scored in another tour. Why does everyone split up their captains so much these days. Stop being so professional! XD

Remember, if you're nominating (or voting for that matters), GC's and YC's are always more important than SC's. Only nominate a sprinter if he's actually gone and win more than one tour or Cup (of course SP tours still count), or if he did extraordinarily well in multiple ones.
