And do the rest of the category the same as all the others (like we did this season).

Seeing as Bredesen was unanimously preferred over Jin, I think it's safe to leave Jin out and stick to 4.

A bit of confusion here, because we seem to have followed the format for the rest of the categories here on accident.
So there is room for 1 more nominee even with both of the guys we voted on on the form, as these were the proposed new rules:

- 6 nominees on the form
- a maximum of 2 riders per specialty can be nominated

However, we can also trim it down to 5 and leave it at these 5, because I don't see that many other candidates any way.

For Brasil, you don't need points inside category.
I just checked Bredesen's points and calculated it as 826. I double checked it too, so I'm pretty sure it's right.

Everything else looks correct, confirmed that Shu Jin scored 660 points. And I vote for Bredesen.

What about Steinar Bredesen as Climber/allrounder: 1st in WC and Coppa del Famiglia del Don and 3rd in Vuelta a valparaisa.

It is difficult.
The rules were adjusted because sprinters just simply have it way easier to get impressive looking point and ranking scores, and without restrictions we often see 4-5 of those make this list.
And tis category is right at the end of the voting form, so it shouldn't really influence the voting in other categories.

However, it is definitely a problem that there is less room for riders that don't fit into categories that well.
So I suggest the following change:

- 6 nominees on the form
- a maximum of 2 riders per specialty can be nominated

Simpler, and less restrictive.

btw, I feel Steinar Bredesen might be worth considering given his WC win, Cup win, and Tour podium. But no idea how he measures up with all the others.

I feel the same way about the nomination style.

I also agree with the need to nominate Shu Jin.

Well, I understand the format but I don't agree with it, because you basically say by nominating 1 TTer for example that you expect him to win the TT award, same for every other category.

I just did the nomination of the TTers yesterday and I think there are other riders (with other specialties who deserve it more), same for Sunde he is the Climber with most points, but his season is as you said not impressive with 2 wins.

I think Shu Jin deserves to be in, with 1st Essex GC and 3rd in Germany GC his season is way more impressive, 'but he does not fit in the categories'

Only Fontes, Borges and Brasil have to be in it, from the names you mentioned. But I think there are better options for the last three, such as Shu Jin

Izzard is my pick from the TTers, considering he won the WC ITT too.
I'd pick Sunde from the climbers, though with 2 wins and no tours/classics, I'm not convinced.
Jepsen is the top hiller at 6th in OCM Tour, but with no wins can hardly be the Best Rider. Swim has wins but is more of a hill-sprinter combo.

I'm proposing Fontes, Borges, Brasil, Izzard, Sunde, Jepsen/Swim.

Would appreciate people's thoughts before finalizing and adding the stats.

- No more than 2 riders from same specialty (except for exceptional performances)
- At least 1 rider from CL, SP, TT, CB, HL specialties (except for exceptional under performance of a specialty)

After last season showed this category was hard to do in the new format, we will just use the old rules for this one only, and work with 5-6 nominees and no committee vote on them.
